The role

Chef

Prepare fresh, balanced desi and continental food for a private Lahore Cantt residence. Keep portions consistent and the kitchen organised and spotless to professional food-safety standards.

What you will do

  • Prepare fresh meals to the agreed menu and standard
  • Plan balanced desi and continental menus with consistent portions and clear preparation notes
  • Adapt dishes to written dietary requirements while keeping flavour and presentation strong
  • Own the kitchen's organisation: pantry and fridge in order, food in labelled and dated containers, and a stock list for the home manager
  • Clean as you cook, and after every meal load and unload the dishwasher, wash the pots and pans, and wipe down the counters, stove and sink
  • Keep hotel-grade food safety: correct fridge temperatures, raw and cooked food kept apart, nothing past its date
  • Prepare and present food with consistent care and hygiene

Before you apply

Is this you?

This role requires

  • 5+ years of paid cooking in a professional setting
  • Kitchen hygiene every day: hands washed, nails short, hair covered, apron on
  • Loading the dishwasher, washing pots and pans, and keeping the kitchen clean after cooking
  • A past employer or supervisor we may call

Not the right role if

  • So far you have cooked only for your own family.
  • You expect someone else to wash up and clean the kitchen after you cook.
What great looks like in this role

This role is for you if

  • You have cooked professionally: a hotel or restaurant kitchen, a catering or meal-prep business, or a family home with several staff.
  • You cook clean, balanced desi and continental food, weigh portions to a plan, and know your macros.
  • Your kitchen stays spotless and organised: everything labelled and dated, cleaned as you go, the pots washed after every meal.
  • You adapt dishes to written dietary requirements with the same care you give every meal.

You will thrive here if you

  • Always taste with a clean, separate spoon.
  • Can adapt a menu to written dietary requirements.
  • Write recipes down, so the taste is the same every time.
  • Leave the kitchen spotless after every meal, as if the next cook were inspecting it.

Not the right role if

  • You cook by guesswork and would rather not measure or write recipes down.
  • Early starts for breakfast do not suit you.

Optional video introduction: let your experience speak

  1. 1Dress as you would for your first day at work: clean, ironed, neat.
  2. 2Greet the family as you would on your first morning, and say your name.
  3. 3Tell us how many years you have done this work, and the type of places you have worked: say ‘a 5-star hotel’ or ‘a family home with several staff’, never a family's name or address.
  4. 4One standard you never compromise on, and why.
  5. 5Then the demonstration for your role (below), and when you could start.
  6. 6One take is fine. No music, filters or editing, and do not film anyone's home or family.

Show us, for this role

  • Show a healthy dish you cooked and plated yourself, today or recently: the real food, not a photo.
  • Say roughly how much protein one portion has, and how you would adapt it to a written dietary requirement.
  • Show your hands and your work surface: clean, apron on, hair covered.

We look for neat turnout, a respectful manner, discretion about past employers, and real skill in what you show us. We never judge looks.

What happens after you apply

  1. 01Straight after: upload your CV or a clear photo of it. Your application is complete once it is added. A recorded introduction is optional.
  2. 02The hiring team reviews every complete application. Your application page always shows where you stand.
  3. 03If you are a good fit, we will send you a link to choose your interview time: by email if you added one, otherwise on WhatsApp.

Questions about this role

How much is the salary?

It depends on experience: someone with ten years at a fine hotel or a well-staffed home is not offered the same as someone with five. You share your expectation in the form, good fits are contacted on WhatsApp, and salary is agreed before you start.

Do I have to record a video?

No. Your CV and answers are enough to complete your application. A short introduction recorded here on your phone is optional and may help us understand your experience sooner. One take is fine; no editing needed.

Do I need English? What CV format is accepted?

A CV is required; PDF, Word or a clear photo of a paper CV is accepted. You can apply and interview in Urdu. Only the House Manager needs to write simple messages and short reports in English; accent is not judged.

What happens if I'm not selected?

Your application page shows your status at any time, and if you gave an email we write to you too. You are welcome to apply for another role that matches your experience.
